Working one-on-one with performers, coaches, and parents, Dave helps individuals understand and overcome the challenges they are facing.  All conversations are confidential and long-term solutions are found by understanding the contributing factors influencing performance and enjoyment.  Once the counselling process starts, higher performance and greater enjoyment of training and competition are usually quick to return.  At this point, systems can often be put into place to help keep things on track permanently.

Sport performance challenges often include:

  • Lack of focus and motivation to train hard
  • Lack of commitment to compete
  • Negative thought patterns
  • Lack of improvement
  • Poor results in competition
  • Trouble sleeping, poor nutrition, and feeling tired or burned out
  • Problems sorting out support
 systems and sponsorships
  • Fear of injury or embarrassment
  • Internal and external pressures
  • Uncomfortable relationships with trainers, coaches or teammates

Dave has had a great deal of success helping his clients reach their goals.  After completing an initial assessment, a program is created catering to the individual’s unique needs.  Sessions are arranged in a variety of ways, either in Dave’s Kamloops office, the athlete’s own home, or by phone, Skype or Facetime.  Dave also works with athletes in training and competitive situations.
